Apollon Heat secured an honorable third-place finish in this season’s Limassol Winter Championship after defeating Red Panda Moufflons 70–52 in the Third-Place Game, ending their season on a positive note.
Mykola Nesuschiy’s team was the better side for most of the contest. They built a lead towards the end of the first half and not only maintained it throughout the game, but gradually extended it, eventually cruising to a comfortable victory and the title of third-place finishers.
For Daria Evdokimova’s side, meanwhile, it was not possible to produce one of their usual comeback performances. Despite their efforts—especially in the third quarter—to re-enter the battle for the win, they were ultimately unable to avoid defeat.
MVP for the winners was Aleksandr Kazachanskii, who scored 20 points, followed by Ilia Mozhaev with 11. For the Moufflons, Konstantin Evdokimov and Rihards Kronitis stood out with 12 and 11 points respectively.
