P&P made it hard for themselves, but secured a place in the Cup Quarterfinals

Despite facing strong resistance from the spirited Old Bulldogs, P&P stayed true to their task and eventually claimed a 43–53 victory, sealing their place in the Cup quarterfinals.

Pambos Papacharalambous’ team made the better start in last night’s game at the Falcon, opening up a double-digit lead by the end of the first quarter (7–17) and giving the impression that, sooner or later, they would confirm their status as favourites and secure the win.

On the other hand, Haris Papakyriakou’s side shook off their sluggish first-quarter start and gradually increased the intensity. By halftime, the Bulldogs had reduced the deficit to 21–27, and their comeback continued after the break. In fact, the hosts grabbed the lead for the first time at 30–28, about two minutes before the end of the third quarter, adding fresh intrigue to the contest.

However, P&P players reacted promptly. With the threat of defeat and elimination from the Cup looming, they quickly regained control of the game. With three minutes remaining, the visitors stretched the lead to +9 (39–48) and, showing the necessary composure and maturity, went on to secure a valuable win and qualification.

Konstantinos Selitas and Kinan Khatib carried most of the scoring load for the winners, finishing with 13 and 12 points respectively. For the Old Bulldogs, Konstantinos Karamontanis and Christoforos Agamemnonos stood out, scoring 12 and 10 points each.
