Despite the pending final game between Makedones-Dimco and the Municipality of Nicosia, everything has now been decided in the Bronze Division regarding the final standings of the six teams, regardless of Friday’s result.
Following yesterday’s win by the Basket Bros over the Moufflons, and the Lawyers’ victory the day before against the Old Timers, the picture has been definitively clarified. Based on the current data, 1st place will be secured by the Municipality of Nicosia, even if they lose their upcoming match, as they will have at least 11 points.
In the three-way tie that follows (Nicosia Bar Association, Basket Bros, Moufflons) with 10 points, 2nd place goes to the Nicosia Bar Association, 3rd place to the Basket Bros, and 4th place to the Moufflons, as the first tiebreaker criterion applies — namely, the number of wins each team achieved in the Second Phase.
5th place will be taken by Makedones-Dimco, regardless of whether they win or lose against the Municipality of Nicosia, while 6th place goes to the Old Timers, who came within touching distance of a win against the Lawyers but eventually lost in overtime.
As a result, the Municipality of Nicosia and the Nicosia Bar Association can begin preparing for the Final Four, having already secured their spots and awaiting their opponents.
The play-off matchups will be (with current head-to-head score in parentheses):
- Basket Bros vs Old Timers (1–0)
- Moufflons vs Makedones-Dimco (1–0)
Qualification will go to the team that first reaches two wins. The first game will be held at the home court of the Basket Bros and the Moufflons respectively, while a second game — if necessary — will be played at their opponents’ venue.
In the Semifinals, the matchups will be:
- Municipality of Nicosia vs Moufflons / Makedones-Dimco
- Nicosia Bar Association vs Basket Bros / Old Timers
It is reminded that the Semifinals are single-game eliminations and will be played at the home courts of the Municipality of Nicosia and the Nicosia Bar Association respectively.
