Dream start to 2026 for Trachoni, who swept past the Moufflons

Trachoni entered the new year with no brakes, recording yet another comfortable victory as they defeated the Red Panda Moufflons 86–53, securing their fifth win of the season and remaining unbeaten at the top of the standings in the Limassol Championship.

Despite the large margin in the final score, the early stages of yesterday’s game in Trachoni told a different story. Christodoulos Sofokleous’ team held only a slight advantage up until midway through the second quarter, with the visitors staying close on the scoreboard and showing that they could contest the win on equal terms.

The narrow 22–18 scoreline in the 5th minute of the second quarter skyrocketed to a commanding 48–26 by halftime, following an explosive five-minute stretch by the hosts, who scored relentlessly. With the gap now at very high levels, the second half quickly took on a procedural character.

The third quarter unfolded with the lead hovering around +20 points in favor of the home side, while in the final period the icing on the cake was added, as Trachoni further increased the score and the visitors ran out of energy. The final 86–53 sealed the clear superiority of the home team and handed them the win.

All 12 available players for the winners found the scoresheet, with Kranopolski, Sparivak and Hatzimitsos standing out with 17, 16 and 15 points respectively. For Daria Evdokimova’s team, Ivan Andreev was the top scorer with 20 points, followed by Andrey Bulat with 13.
