First Shoot APOPAL did its duty and secured 4th place

The Palliouriotissa Graduates (First Shoot APOPAL) were consistent yesterday evening in their appointment with the Basket Bros, whom they defeated with a score of 69-44, essentially locking up fourth place in the standings, which leads to the Silver Category.

The team of Pitzioli-Panayiotou met strong resistance from the Basket Bros in the first half, a period during which they had a slight lead, but not enough to guarantee victory. In the second half, however, the home team significantly ramped up their defense and offense, built a safe lead, and reached their 5th win of the season, and their third consecutive one.

The star on offense for the winners was once again Andreas Fotiou, who scored 26 points, followed by George Georgiou with 12. For the visitors, Panagiotis Bakopoulos and Yiannis Loura stood out with 12 and 11 points respectively.

With this victory, and regardless of the other results in the “Kyrenia” Region, First Shoot APOPAL will definitively be fourth, a fact that is equivalent to entering the Silver Category and, moreover, at the top of its standings with four points.

The Graduates are now waiting to see which other teams will complete the eight teams of the Silver Category, as several fronts are still open and will be definitively clarified on Thursday evening. The presence of the Nicosia Wizards, the Blue Cats, and the Old Bulldogs is considered certain so far, while the remaining spots are still open.

On the other hand, the Basket Bros will definitely compete in the Bronze Category, but they also await to learn their final ranking, which will become clear after the conclusion of the other matches on the 9th matchday. So far, the only teams guaranteed to compete in the Bronze Category are the Municipality of Nicosia and the Nicosia Bar Association, while the rest will be finalized the night after tomorrow.
