Another victory for the All’D Stars last night, as part of the 3rd matchday of the Women’s Championship, they very narrowly defeated the ETHA Court Queens with a score of 43-41, in a nail-biting thriller that was decided in the final seconds.
The Larnaca team, just like in their previous game against the WNBA, showed great composure in the final stages of the match, and despite falling behind 40-41 shortly before the end, they managed to secure their 3rd win with a priceless basket by Karoulla and a free throw by Kirkini.
On the other hand, the Engomi team also showed very good elements yesterday, coming within an inch of a huge away win, but in the end, they were left with the bittersweet taste of a great performance that did not translate into a victory.
The top performers for Chrysis Themistokleous‘ team were Elena Kalli (10 pts – 12 rebs) and Antria Kirkini (11 pts), while for Michalis Zakos’ team, the performance of Elise Buscuet (19 pts – 9 rebs) was impressive.
With yesterday’s victory, the All’D Stars team caught up with the Blue Cats at the top of the standings, where they are tied with 6 points. On the next matchday, the Larnaca team will have a bye, while in their last game before the Christmas break, they will have a dangerous away trip to Limassol against Aris.
Conversely, the “Queens” (ETHA) are tied for 3rd place with the Black Panthers, but have played one more game. In the last 2 matchdays for 2025, they will first face the Angels away and then the Panthers at home.
