Incredible Thriller with 2 Overtime Periods in Dali, P&P triumphs

A carbon copy of last season’s match between Famagusta Ballers and P&P took place last night, with the two teams battling it out to the absolute end, needing two overtime periods to determine a winner, and ultimately the smiles went to the visiting team who prevailed 60-62.

Pambos Papacharalambous’s team went through fire and brimstone at the Dali Lyceum, securing a great away victory against the Famagusta side, which may prove decisive in their effort to enter the Gold Category this year as well.

The two teams did exactly what they did last March when they faced each other in Dali during the Gold Category play-offs, where again they needed two overtimes and the visitors won again with a score of 62-67.

The home team let the victory slip through their fingers, as at the end of the 2nd overtime, while trailing 57-58 with a minute and a half left, they managed to take the lead at 60-58, thanks to a three-pointer by Adam Adamou. Their joy, however, did not last long, as Quinn initially tied the score, and Selitas subsequently scored the winning basket, sending the visitors over the moon.

With this victory, just like their win last week against EAK, P&P puts forward a very strong candidacy to re-enter the Gold Category. For Famagusta Ballers, on the other hand, yesterday’s loss is certainly not the end of the world, but they absolutely must get the away win next matchday against UNIC if they want to avoid trouble and get back into Gold.
