The predictions favoring Nicosia’s champions, PN99, were confirmed last night at the Super Cup 2025. They comfortably defeated Limassol’s champions, Arthurou, with a score of 85-59, winning the treble and adding yet another title to their rich trophy case. This celebratory game between the two champion teams from Nicosia and Limassol was the final one across all Winter Championship tournaments and was a beautiful conclusion to this season.
Last night’s matchup at the English School indoor gym started with a positive outlook for the Limassol champions, who began the game on solid footing. They took a slight lead of 20-22 by the end of the first quarter, showing they had what it took to compete. However, the rest of the game didn’t follow the same pattern. From the beginning of the second period, PN99 started applying pressure, tightened up their defense, and launched one fast break after another, quickly building a massive lead.
Halftime saw the “Pinks” leading by +16 (45-29), having taken complete control of the game. At the start of the second half, Adamou Andreou’s team seemed to show signs of a comeback, managing to cut the deficit to -11. However, the “Blues'” counterattack didn’t last long, as the home team quickly extended their lead again to 64-48 by the end of the third quarter.
The final quarter was merely a formality. Both coaches gave playing time to all their players, and the final score on the board was 85-59, which gave PN99 the Super Champion title. Giannakis Prokopiou once again stood out for the winners, scoring 26 points, followed by Petros Konnafis with 13 and Andreas Petsas with 11.
For the visiting team, Giorgos Iliadis played another great game, adding 25 points to his tally, with Demian Zenkov as his main supporter with 16.
