The 4th annual All-Star Game, organized by the Winter Basketball Championship, was successfully held last night at the Agios Dometios indoor arena. This year’s event had a few unique features, including the selection of the team coaches through a vote by all the league’s coaches, and for the first time, the participation of four female basketball players who competed alongside their male counterparts.
The All-Star Game featured teams from the Keryneia and Morfou regions, and all selected players had the opportunity to play. For the record, the team coached by Andreas Christou and Adamou Adamou (Morfou) won the game, defeating the team coached by Alexis Georgiades, Vorris Karagiannis, and Andreas Kokkinos (Keryneia) with a score of 83-76.
The top scorer for the winning side was Charis Spyrou (Crepaland) with 19 points, while Petros Konnafis (PN99) led the losing team with 26 points. We would like to express our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the event, including the coaches and all the players who helped create a beautiful and sportsmanlike game.
Special thanks go to the four female basketball players—Sophia Cheimonettou, Elena Mythillou, Styliani Theodosiou, and Katerina Tsikkou—who represented the Women’s Winter Championship with distinction and made last night’s celebration even more special.
