Επιστροφή στις νίκες για την ομάδα της Apollon Heat, η οποία κέρδισε εκτός έδρας χθες βράδυ στο πλαίσιο της 6ης αγωνιστικής του Πρωταθλήματος Λεμεσού την Αρθούρος Καλαθόσφαιρα με 53-60, φτάνοντας στην 4η φετινή της νίκη και σκαρφαλώνοντας παράλληλα στη 2η θέση της Βαθμολογίας. Για τους γηπεδούχους, η χθεσινή ήταν η 5η ήττα στην φετινή διοργάνωση, παρά το γεγονός ότι σε άλλη μία αναμέτρηση προσπάθησε σημαντικά να κάνει την μεγάλη ανατροπή, χωρίς όμως αποτέλεσμα.
Ο αγώνας στο Γυμνάσιο Επισκοπής χθες βράδυ είχε χαρακτήρα ντέρμπι στο Α’ μέρος, με τις δύο ομάδες να συμβαδίζουν στο σκορ και να προσπαθούν με πάθος αμφότερες να πάρουν το πολυπόθητο ροζ φύλλο αγώνος. Η πρώτη περίοδος έληξε με τους φιλοξενούμενους να έχουν ελαφρύ προβάδισμα με 12-14 και το ημίχρονο έκλεισε με την απόσταση να παραμένει ακριβώς στα ίδια επίπεδα (20-22). Το σημείο καμπής που έγειρε ουσιαστικά την πλάστιγγα υπέρ της Apollon Heat ήταν η 3η περίοδος, διάστημα κατά το οποίο οι φιλοξενούμενοι πάτησαν γκάζι και οι γηπεδούχοι δυσκολεύονταν να παρακολουθήσουν.
Το προβάδισμα της Heat ανέβηκε στο +15 (29-44) στη λήξη της 3ης περιόδου και στο ξεκίνημα της 4ης ανέβηκε ακόμη και στο +17, δείχνοντας ότι ουσιαστικά όλα είχαν κριθεί. Από εκείνο το σημείο όμως και μετά, οι παίκτες του Αντρέα Ηλία έβγαλαν αντίδραση και προσπάθησαν να κάνουν ένα δυναμικό come-back, πλην όμως ο χρόνος που έμενε δεν επαρκούσε για να φτάσουν στην μεγάλη ανατροπή. Το τελικό σφύριγμα έφερε το σκορ στο 53-60 και τους παίκτες της φιλοξενούμενης ομάδας να πανηγυρίζουν την νέα τους νίκη.
Κορυφαίος για τους νικητές ήταν ο Viacheslav Titov, ο οποίος σημείωσε 26 πόντους και τον ακολούθησαν ο Maksym Nekhai με 10 και ο Egor Ivonin με 9. Από τους γηπεδούχους το κύριο βάρος στην επίθεση σήκωσαν ο Στέφανος Λαμάρης με 22 και ο Ajitesh Kumar με 21 πόντους και τους ακολούθησε ο Γιώργος Παπαδογιάννης με 5. Την επόμενη αγωνιστική η Apollon Heat θα φιλοξενήσει τους Limassol Pistols, ενώ η Αρθούρος Καλαθόσφαιρα θα αγωνιστεί με τους Moufflons.
Victory and 2nd place for Apollon Heat
Return to victories for the Apollon Heat team, which won away last night in the 6th matchday of the Limassol League against Arthuros Basketball with a score of 53-60, reaching its 4th win of the season and simultaneously climbing to 2nd place in the standings. For the hosts, yesterday marked their 5th defeat in this season’s competition, despite their significant efforts in another match to stage a comeback, which unfortunately for them did not materialize.
The match at Episkopi Gymnasium last night had a derby character in the first half, with both teams neck and neck on the scoreline and both passionately striving to seize the coveted victory. The first period ended with the visitors holding a slight lead at 12-14, and halftime closed with the gap remaining exactly at the same levels (20-22). The turning point that essentially tilted the balance in favor of Apollon Heat was the 3rd period, during which the visitors stepped up their game while the hosts struggled to keep up.
The Heat’s lead increased to +15 (29-44) at the end of the 3rd period, and at the start of the 4th, it even rose to +17, indicating that essentially everything had been decided. However, from that point onwards, Andrea Ilias’s players reacted and attempted a dynamic comeback, but the remaining time was not sufficient for them to achieve the great turnaround. The final whistle brought the score to 53-60, with the players of the visiting team celebrating their new victory.
The standout performer for the winners was Viacheslav Titov, who scored 26 points, followed by Maksym Nekhai with 10 and Egor Ivonin with 9. For the hosts, the main offensive contributors were Stefanos Lamáris with 22 points and Ajitesh Kumar with 21 points, followed by Georgios Papadogiannis with 5.
