ETHA Court Queens return to winning ways

The ETHA Court Queens bounced back to winning form last night, as part of Round 11, securing a comfortable 49–25 victory over Dikefalos Geriou Angels. With this result, they claimed their fourth win of the season and strengthened their position in third place in the standings.

The “Queens” had little trouble getting the job done, making the most of home-court advantage and their offensive superiority to take control of the game early on. The hosts built a safe lead from the opening stages, heading into halftime with a double-digit advantage (23–7), while the visitors struggled significantly to find their way to the basket.

In the second half, the Angels picked up the pace and enjoyed their best spell of the game, particularly in the third quarter, showing clear signs of improvement without ever managing to threaten seriously. In the final period, with the outcome already decided, Michalis Zakos’ team not only maintained their comfortable lead but extended it further, with the final score of 49–25 sealing a convincing victory.

Four players for the home side finished in double figures, with Ingrid Akathiotou standing out, recording an impressive 16 points and 14 rebounds. She was followed by Lefeuvre, Kritiotou and Chandrioti, who added 11, 10 and 10 points respectively. For the Angels, Eirini Tsolia led the scoring effort with 12 points, while Gartzolaki and Paraskevaidou contributed 5 and 4 points respectively.

In the next round, the ETHA Court Queens will travel to face the Black Panthers, while the Angels will host WNBA.
