Think Colour advance to the Final Four, Old Timers and Basket Bros head to a decisive game 3

Last night’s action in the Nicosia League was highlighted by Think Colour’s comfortable qualification for the Gold Category semifinals and a thrilling victory by the Old Timers over the Basket Bros, which sends their series to a decisive third game.

In the earlier matchup of the evening, Think Colour had no trouble against the Famagusta Ballers, defeating them emphatically 79–49, completing a 2–0 sweep in the series and booking a semifinal clash with ESOBGA. The single-elimination semifinal will take place on 13 March at the English School.

Andreas Christou’s team took control of the game from the outset, capitalizing on home court and the presence of all their key players, gradually asserting dominance in every aspect of the game and never allowing the Famagusta side to seriously challenge for qualification at any stage.

Indicative of the hosts’ offensive depth was the fact that all 11 players who took part managed to score, with three reaching double figures. The leading scorers for Think Colour were Panagiotis Nikolaidis, Giorgos Anastasiadis, and Stamatis Makris, with 18, 17, and 12 points respectively.

For the Famagusta Ballers, Theodoros Apeslidis and Nikos Kkafas stood out with 16 and 10 points respectively. Last night’s game marked the final appearance of the Famagusta Ballers this season, as they have now completed their commitments in both the League and the Cup. We sincerely thank them for their excellent presence and look forward to welcoming them back next season.

Completely different circumstances unfolded in the other game of the night, where the Old Timers reignited their battle with the Basket Bros, edging them 47–46 in a heart-stopping contest. The win levels the series at 1–1, with qualification now to be decided in a third and decisive game, scheduled for next week (04/03/2026, Falcon, 19:50).

The Old Timers, who had not recorded a single win during Phase B, produced a major upset to secure a crucial victory, keeping their season alive and giving themselves a real chance of reaching the Bronze Category Final Four. On the other hand, the Basket Bros—who had three wins in Phase B—missed the opportunity to close the series at 2–0 and will now need to give everything in the decisive matchup.

The game at Falcon was highly competitive and thrilling until the final seconds, with the lead changing hands repeatedly. Everything was decided in the final minute, when the Basket Bros—listed as the home team—were ahead 46–44 with 30 seconds remaining. However, the hero of the night for the Old Timers, Giorgos Georgiou, completed a dramatic turnaround with a basket and a foul in the closing seconds, giving his team a narrow 47–46 lead.

Alexandros Solomonidis’ team tried to reclaim the lead in the remaining moments, but two attempts by Louras and Doko failed to find the target, sealing the win for the Old Timers. Marios Ioannou was named MVP for the winners with 14 points, followed by Georgiou and Koutsakis with 10 and 9 points respectively. For the Basket Bros, Alexis Charalambous and Giannos Louras stood out, scoring 10 and 9 points each.
