All’D Stars do the job, defeat WNBA and stay near the top

The All’D Stars recorded their 6th win of the season last night, defeating WNBA 54–39 in Larnaca as part of the 9th round of the Women’s Championship, further strengthening their position in the standings.

Making the most of home-court advantage and their numerical superiority, Chryssis Themistokleous’ team secured another win, despite the strong resistance shown by their opponents at various stages, particularly in the first half.

Marios Anaxagorou’s team, despite playing with only six players (three of whom were forced to play the full 40 minutes), caused problems for the hosts in the opening half. They led 10–12 at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime just two points behind (22–20).

As expected, however, the visitors’ resistance could not last indefinitely, and the balance shifted after the break. The experienced All’D Stars brought all their weapons onto the court, built a safe lead, and gradually imposed their rhythm, tipping the scales decisively in their favor.

The third quarter ended 40–31, while in the final period the margin grew to +15, with the 54–39 final score sealing the victory for the Larnaca side. Standout performers for the winners were Elena Kalli (18 points, 10 rebounds) and Christina Michael with 15 points (including four three-pointers), closely followed by Nasia Kassiani with 12. For the visitors, Sofia Cheimonettou stood out with 17 points, followed by Thea Theologou and Maria Ioannou with 8 and 7 points respectively.
