Arthouros continued their positive run of results, as in the framework of the 5th round of the Limassol Championship they defeated Art Eat ENAATH by 74–53, securing their second win of the season, and notably their second in a row.
The game, which was held exceptionally at the Episkopi Gymnasium due to the unsuitability of the Linopetra Lyceum because of bad weather, turned into a one-sided affair, as last season’s champions dominated early on, leading 19–11 after the first quarter and 38–21 at halftime.
In the second half, the picture of the two teams remained unchanged, with the nominally away side not only maintaining their lead but extending it as well, even reaching a 32-point advantage at one stage (21–53) during the third quarter.
Toward the end of the game, with the outcome already decided, Arthouros’ players took their foot off the gas, allowing Antonis Tsardoulia’s side to cut the margin somewhat, with 74–53 marking the final score.
The presence of seven players on Arthouros’ bench in yesterday’s game (as opposed to previous matches where they lined up with five or six) may have played an important role in allowing the players to get the necessary rest and eventually secure a comfortable victory.
The standout performer for the winners was Demian Zenkov with 30 points, with Giorgos Antorkas as his main support, scoring 16. For ENAATH, Makis Pipiros once again stood out with 21 points, followed by Konstantinos Avgeropoulos with 9.
