This coming Sunday, May 18, the Women’s Winter Championship will conclude with the Small and Grand Finals, which will crown this year’s champion team. This year’s Final Four will be a major celebration of women’s amateur basketball, and in addition to crowning a new champion, it will also honor the top players of the year.
Seven months after the first tip-off of the 2024-2025 season on November 20 with the Black Panthers vs. Dikefalos Angels match, the four best teams of the tournament will give their final performance this Sunday night at the Agios Dometios indoor stadium. The action begins at 5:50 PM with the Small Final between the All’D Stars and the Black Panthers.
After the Small Final, the traditional medal and trophy presentation will take place for the third-place team. This will be followed by the Award Ceremony for the Top Players of the Year, honoring the players who led in various statistical categories.
Immediately after the Award Ceremony, all eyes will be on the highlight of the evening, the Grand Final, which is scheduled to start at 7:45 PM. The two teams facing off will be the Youth Stars and the Blue Cats, who finished in 1st and 2nd place, respectively, in the Regular Season. They are expected to give their all to claim the title.
The trophy and medals will be presented by former player and current coach of AEL Limassol Basketball, women’s basketball legend Kalia Papadopoulou, who will honor us with her presence. We extend our warm thanks to her for accepting our invitation.
