After the successful first season of the Limassol Winter Basketball League, our Association’s Board of Directors has decided to once again extend an open invitation to all interested teams from the city and district of Limassol to participate in the 2024-2025 season Championship.
This year’s Championship is expected to start around the end of October, and teams that meet the participation requirements and follow the Regulations included in last season’s Limassol Championship Announcement will be able to take part. It is clarified that the maximum number of team slots available can reach up to 10. In case of a large number of participation applications, the following criteria will be applied for the selection of the final participating teams:
- Priority will be given to the 6 teams that participated in last year’s first season.
- Priority will also be given to teams that have their own home court.
- In the event that, after applying the above criteria, the number of interested teams remains high, a priority order will be followed based on the chronological order of submission of the participation applications.
Interested teams wishing to participate in the 2024-2025 Limassol Winter Championship must complete their details in the relevant Participation form no later than 30/06/2024.
All games will mandatorily include a 24-second shot clock for each possession. Each game will use an electronic scoreboard for scorekeeping and a 24-second shot clock. A professional nurse will be present at every game. Statistics for all players’ points will be kept through the Winter “Swish” electronic platform.
Teams must have their own home court when playing home games; otherwise, they will play at their opponent’s home court. The championship will be conducted with a Regular Season, followed by playoff games. It is estimated that each team will play in at least 12 games, and the Championship will last approximately 4-5 months.
