Την τρίτη σερί νίκη της στο Πρωτάθλημα Λεμεσού πανηγύρισε χθες βράδυ η ομάδα της Omega, η οποία κέρδισε και τους Moufflons με 83-65 και σκαρφάλωσε προσωρινά στην κορυφή της βαθμολογίας, αναμένοντας βέβαια να δει και τα αποτελέσματα των υπολοίπων ομάδων που αγωνίζονται σήμερα και αύριο. Για τους Moufflons, οι οποίοι είχαν αρκετές και σημαντικές απουσίες από το χθεσινό παιγνίδι, η χθεσινή ήταν η 2η ήττα στο Πρωτάθλημα, η οποία τους φέρνει κάπως πιο πίσω σε σχέση με το αρχικό καλό ξεκίνημά τους στη διοργάνωση.
Η αναμέτρηση στο Λύκειο Αγίου Ιωάννη χθες βράδυ κύλησε στα μέτρα των γηπεδούχων σε όλη σχεδόν τη διάρκειά της και δεν άφησε πολλά περιθώρια στους φιλοξενούμενους να διεκδικήσουν κάτι από το παιγνίδι. Με εξαίρεση την πρώτη περίοδο και μέρος της δεύτερης, διάστημα κατά το οποίο οι 2 ομάδες συμβάδιζαν στο σκορ, σε όλο το υπόλοιπο παιγνίδι οι παίκτες της Omega έκτισαν μια διαφορά ασφαλείας, την οποία όχι απλώς συντήρησαν μέχρι το τέλος αλλά και την διεύρυναν με την πάροδο του χρόνου.
Οι μόλις 6 παίκτες των Mouffolns που αγωνίστηκαν χθες βράδυ, προσπάθησαν σε κάποια στάδια του αγώνα να ρίξουν κάπως το σκορ, μειώνοντας στο -9 στη λήξη της 3ης περιόδου (58-49), πλην όμως στο τέλος φάνηκε να μένουν από δυνάμεις και μοιραία δέχθηκαν την ήττα. Τα δεκάλεπτα του αγώνα ήταν 20-19, 44-33, 58-49 και 83-65. Πρώτος σκόρερ για τους νικητές ήταν ο Dmitriy Nefedchenko με 15 πόντους και τον ακολούθησε ο Andrei Shirkin με 14 και ο Andrey Repnikov με 13. Από τους φιλοξενούμενους ξεχώρισε ο Andrei Bulat με 20 πόντους, με κύριους συμπαραστάτες τον Petr Gordev με 16 και Konstantin Evdokimov με 12.
Την επόμενη αγωνιστική η Omega θα αγωνιστεί εκτός έδρας με την Apollon Heat, ενώ οι Moufflons θα φιλοξενήσουν τους Limassol Pistols.

The Omega team celebrated its third consecutive victory in the Limassol League last night, defeating the Moufflons 83-65 and temporarily climbing to the top of the standings. However, they are still awaiting the results of the other teams playing today and tomorrow. For the Moufflons, who had several important absences in yesterday’s game, it was their second defeat in the Championship, putting them somewhat behind their initial strong start in the competition.
The match at Agios Ioannis Lyceum last night unfolded in favor of the home team throughout almost its entire duration, leaving little room for the visitors to contend for anything in the game. Except for the first period and part of the second, during which the two teams were closely matched on the score, the players of Omega built a safety margin that they not only maintained until the end, but also widened over time.
The six Moufflons players who competed last night tried at certain stages of the game to narrow the score, reducing it to -9 at the end of the third period (58-49). However, in the end, they seemed to run out of steam and inevitably suffered defeat. The quarter scores were 20-19, 44-33, 58-49 and 83-65.
